Round table: Is Hip-Hop dance a contemporary dance?

Is Hip-Hop dance a contemporary dance?

For its 10th anniversary, Groove'N'Move Festival is organising a roundtable which will take place at Flux Laboratory on Tuesday March 10th, 2020 at 7 p.m.

Urban dance is a recent form of dance, born in the 1970s in the United States, which continues to evolve and assert its legitimacy in the field of live performance. Born in the streets, it has now established itself as an artistic movement in its own right and it is honored in the largest international theaters. It is a dance inspired by the current environment, which then spurs a question: is hip-hop dance a contemporary dance?
